Bonita A. Daye, 59, of Smithmill and a guest at Epworth Manor, died Tuesday April 18, 2017. She was born in Tyrone on May 29, 1957, the daughter of Melvin C. and Patricia M. Thompson Lewis Jr. On April 24, 1976 in Hublersburg, PA she married Russell Daye who survives.

Also surviving is a son: John Daye of Smithmill; 4 brothers: Wetzel, Harry, Melvin III and Mark Lewis; 3 sisters: Suzanne Fink, Carol Penn and Mischell Weight: and 2 granddaughters; Emily E and Samantha M Daye.

Mrs. Daye worked at Brookline Village as a Dietary Technician. Bonita enjoyed baking and cooking as well as hunting and fishing. She was an avid football fan who never missed a Tyrone home game and enjoyed cheering on her Dallas Cowboys. She loved the outdoors and above everything else loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters.

Funeral services for Bonita A. Daye will be held Friday, April 21, 2017 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Mark Melhorn officiating. Friends will be received at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. on Friday from 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM service. Interment will be at the Evangelical Cemetery in Rebersburg, PA.
