Betty Jane Hunter, 91, of formerly of Ironsville died Thursday January 7, 2016 at Garvey Manor Nursing Home.

She was born February 6, 1924 in Tyrone, a daughter of Oscar B. and Dorothy Etta (Lytle) Rhoades. On January 5, 1947in Tyrone she married Melvin F. Hunter. He died November 4, 2004.

Surviving are a daughter Dana A. Baronner and husband David of Hollidaysburg, three grandchildren Chesna Kyle and husband Kurtis, Erin Emmett and husband Kyle and Jeremy Baronner and a great-granddaughter Teagan. She was preceded in death by a sister Mary Louise Mulhollen.

Mrs. Hunter had been employed as a Dental Assistant for Dr. S.L. Lake, Tyrone for several years and had also been secretary for Gardner's Candies, Tyrone. She had attended Grace Bible Church, Tyrone.

Betty enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.

Funeral services will be held Monday January 11, 2015 at 11 A.M. at Feller Memorial home with Rev. Ken Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 5 P.M. and on Monday from 10 A.M. until the time of services.
