Obituary

Betty Jane Ford, 88, of Tyrone passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022. She was born on January 6, 1934, in Tyrone, the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Warsing) Sims. She is survived by one daughter: Vicky (Stephen) Lang of Everett; grandchildren: Rhonda (Brian) Detwiler, Capi (Bob Gray) Tyler-Mann, Jason (Danielle) Tyler, and Tracy (Bryan) Taylor; one grandson-in-law: Mark Henninger; 15 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and two special caretakers: Amilynn Rivera and Sierra Mann. She was preceded in death by her husband John G. Ford; granddaughter: Christina Lang-Henninger; siblings: Adeline Sims Coleman, and Donald, Robert, and Merle Sims. She was the last of her immediate family.

Betty was a 1951 graduate of Tyrone Area High School, after school she worked as a waitress at various local restaurants including Fern's, The Coach Light and The Bull Pen. Betty was a member of the Grazierville United Methodist Church in Tyrone, and the VFW Tyrone Anderson-Denny Post 4559. She loved her family and her cat, Freddie, who meant the world to her. Betty also enjoyed bingo.

A noon funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the Feller Memorial Home, with Reverend Jeff Holland officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 am until the noon service. Interment will be made at Alto-Reste Park in Altoona. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E Pleasant Valley Blvd, Altoona, PA 16602.

Arrangements are under the care of the Feller Memorial Home.
