Bertha J. Rutherford, 94, of Silver Barn Road, Tyrone died Friday March 6, 2015 at Tyrone Hospital.

She was born September 1, 1920 in Warriors Mark, a daughter of William and Ethel (Clouser) Steele. On October 10, 1939 in Alexandria she married Harry B. Rutherford. He died September 7, 1986.

Surviving are a daughter Janice Kocher and husband Reed of Pine Grove Mills, 2 sons Charles B. and wife Karan of Bellwood, William H. of Tyrone, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and 2 sisters Jenevieve Calevas of Pompano Beach, Florida and Shirley Miller of Everett. She was preceded in death by a brother William and a sister Gertrude Stiner.

Mrs. Rutherford retired in 1985 from Big Yank, Tyrone from the First Aide Room following 31 years service.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Tyrone and was a life member of the Tyrone VFW Woman's Auxiliary.

Bertha enjoyed traveling all over the United States and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Memorial services will be held Thursday March 19, 2015 at 7 P.M. at Feller Memorial Home. Friends will be received at the funeral home form 6 P.M. until the time of services.
