Bernice E. Cross, age 95, a guest at Epworth Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Tyrone, died Thursday, August 11, 2016. She was born August 8, 1921 in Little Valley, NY, the daughter of Henry E. and Bessie E. Seekins Gifford. On January 29, 1949 in Little Valley she was married to Robert W. Cross who died March 9, 2009. She is survived by three children – Roberta (Dean) Vitello, Venice, FL, Brenda (William) Pollak, Fairfield, Iowa, and Michael W. (Paige) Cross, Tyrone, PA. Also surviving are four grandchildren – Tim Cross, Sarah (Brandon) Cross Smith, Micah (Margaret) Pollak and Dora Pollak and four great grandchildren – Robbie, Noah, Tyler and Eleanor. She was predeceased by two brothers, Willard and Harold Gifford and was the last of her immediate family.

She was a graduate of Little Valley High School Class of 1940 and a member of the Little Valley United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker.

Private funeral arrangements are under the care of the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone and will be at the convenience of the family.
