Babara A. Romano, age 73, of Tyrone and a guest at the Altoona Center for Nursing Care, died Saturday, January 21, 2017. She was born May 2, 1943 in Tyrone, the daughter of Malvin and Naomi Saylor Romano. She is survived by a son David R. (Tina) Hoffman Jr. and a daughter Tammy J. (Rocco) DelBaggio, both of Tyrone, 3 grandchildren; Lyndsay (Caleb) Marshall, Baylee DelBaggio and Brianne Ramsey all of Tyrone and 2 great-grandchildren, Dillon and Adalee Marshall of Tyrone. Also surviving is a sister, Mable "Dolly" Romano and 2 brothers, Malvin and Jeff Romano all of Tyrone. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Francis and William "Bill" Romano and a grandson, Dustin DelBaggio.

Miss Romano was a 1961 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. She was employed as a seamstress at Big Yank for many years. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her immediate family as well as her extended family at ACNC and always found ways to contribute to the center such as greeting visitors and residents as they entered the building and also helping with crafting. She was also an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed watching their games.

Funeral service for Barbara A. Romano will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM with Pastor Rob Davis officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday January 24, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM service with private interment to follow at Bald Eagle Cemetery, Tyrone.
