IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara A.
Barnaby
June 18, 1934 – February 24, 2025
Barbara A. Barnaby, 90, of Centre Hall, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025. She was born in Halfmoon Township on June 18, 1934, the daughter of the late Samuel R. and Mary (Noll) Travis. On August 4, 1989 at the Alliance Church of Tyrone, she married Roderick E. Barnaby who preceded her in death. Also preceding her was a fiance, George W. Homan.
Barb was a 1953 graduate of State College High School. She was an employee of the A&P on Westerly Parkway and loved her job. In 1996 she became a breast cancer survivor, which she attributed to her positive attitude and George's care. She was a member of Birmingham Presbyterian Church before moving and then became a member at Grace United Methodist Church in Centre Hall where she enjoyed helping with their annual peanut butter egg sale.
Traveling was a passion of hers and she visited many places including Yosemite, Maine, and Australia. She also liked playing cards and taking turns with desserts and cooking dinner with her friends. She enjoyed spending time with George's sisters, family, and her friend, Aida Lamey. George's youngest daughter made cookies for her 90th birthday and Barbara was very fond of that memory.
A 7 pm funeral service for Barbara A. Barnaby will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. in Tyrone with Pastor Sandy Kraft officiating. Friends will be received on Thursday from 6 pm until the time of service. Interment will be made privately at Grays Cemetery.
