Anna Mae Huff, 89 of Tyrone, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025. She was born on October 23, 1935, a daughter of the late Menno M. and Anna Hersh (Eckman) Good. On August 28, 1954, in Ambler, PA she married Reverend Norman Huff who preceded her in death on August 19, 2016. She is survived by four children: Gary E. (Kimberly) Huff of Huntingdon; D. Timothy Huff of Sun City, AZ; Susan K. (Larry) Broadbent of Altoona; and Deborah A. (Karl) Estright of Tipton; seven grandchildren: Lauren Huff, Lindsay (Johnny) McCracken, Daron and Alesia Daly, Tyler (Courtney), Zachary and Emily Estright; six great-grandchildren: Korynne, LJ, Elias, Felicity, Arwen, and Everett; and one sister: Mary Jane Hershey of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson: Lennon; and two brothers: Reverend Menno and Robert Good.
Anna Mae was a 1953 graduate of Ambler Joint High School and a 1975 graduate of Lycoming College where she received a Bachelor's of Arts in Education. She retired in 1987 from the Tyrone Area School District. She also taught in the Jersey Shore and Muncy school district as well. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she was very involved. She also was the choir director and played accompaniment for her husband at the many churches in which they served. She was a member of the Round Table in Tyrone, and sang in the Allegheny Chorale and was a PEER Mentor at Cedarwood Rehabilitation.
She enjoyed PSU football and was an avid reader but her biggest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Anna Mae will be missed for her quiet strength, strong faith, and encouraging spirit.
An 11 am funeral service for Anna Mae Huff will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Reverend James House officiating. Friends will be received on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. from 2-5 pm and at the church on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of service.
