Obituary

Anna Marie Harshman died on June 27, 2025, at her home.

Anne was born July 15, 1951, in Butler, Pennsylvania, and in 1969 married her best friend, Bill Harshman, who survives.

Anne and Bill had five children: Becki Maurio and husband Joe, of Westminster, Maryland; Billy Harshman, who died in 2005; Jason Harshman and wife Sarah, of Breinigsville, Pennsylvania; Rachel Wiggins, recently deceased and survived by husband Brandon Wiggins, of Latrobe, Pennsylvania; and Sarah James and husband Drew, of Middleburg, Pennsylvania. Anne's grandchildren are Georgia and James Harshman and Dakota and Cooper Wiggins.

Anne worked proudly as a secretary for 40 years, and particularly enjoyed her work in law offices. She was a legal secretary in Butler and Washington counties, and had also worked as a typesetter and proofreader for local, national, and international publications.

Anne loved to read and had amassed a large personal library. In 2016 she opened a Little Free Library at her home in Tipton. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, oil painting, and cooking. But most of all, Anne loved time with her family and friends.

Anne was a member of Saint Matthew Catholic Church in Tyrone, and had served as a Sunday School Teacher for 26 years and as a Lector for over 20 years. She also worked with various committees and councils at her church and within the community at large over the years.

Anne was the founder of the Harshman Family Scholarship, given annually to a Bellwood-Antis graduating senior. She believed that her children had received a stellar education there and wanted to give back she and her husband contributed a base amount each year and asked their children to supplement that as they were able. The scholarship has been in existence since 1999.
