Alvin T. Rutherford Jr., 71, of Grazierville died Saturday August 2, 2014 at his residence.

He was born July 24, 1943 in Tyrone, a son of Alvin T. Sr. and Ruth (Smith) Rutherford. He married Bev Miles who survives in Altoona.

Also surviving are a daughter Tammy Harpster (Tom) of Altoona, a son Aaron of Tyrone, 3 grandchildren, Kylie Rutherford, Emily and Ally Harpster and 2 sisters, Betty Feller of Tyrone and Patricia Geissinger of Huntingdon. He was preceded in death by a brother Albert.

Mr. Rutherford retired in 1998 from Nabisco, Altoona as a delivery driver following 30 years service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam.

Alvie enjoyed woodworking in his garage and loved spending time with his granddaughters.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday August 6, 2014 at 8 P.M. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Brent Salsgiver officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 P.M. until the time of services.
