Alice A. Sones, 91 of Port Matilda, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. She was born on October 3, 1934, in Berlin, NH, a daughter of the late Edward and Georgianna (Morin). Alice came from a large family and was preceded in death by her eight siblings. On April 12, 1952, in Berlin, NH she married George L. Sones who preceded her in death on October 2, 2018. She is survived by three children: Fredrick G. (Heather) Sones, Georgianna J. Sones, and Sherrie (John) L. Sones Chambers; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren.

Alice was a proud military wife and made a home for the family wherever they were stationed and upon George's retirement, they settled in Port Matilda. She was employed by Josten's Printing and Publishing until her retirement. During her retirement, she enjoyed travel, water aerobics, cooking and any activities that involved family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 3 PM at Alexandria God's Missionary Church with Pastor Matthew Peachey officiating. A meal at the church hall will follow. Contributions in Alice's memory may be made to Alexandria God's Missionary Church.
