March 27, 1945 – May 25, 2025
Alberta F. Naylor, 80, of Sinking Valley, passed away Sunday. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Albert Sr. and Clara (Smith) Steinbeiser.
On Oct. 20, 2018, in Sinking Valley, she married Stuart "Sandy" Naylor who survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Anita (Doug) Ickes; 10 siblings: Alma Gracey, Gloria (Ken) Kraus, Albert "Skip" Steinbeiser Jr., Leo Steinbeiser, Kay (Randy) Diehl, Mark Steinbeiser, Cletus Steinbeiser, Barbara (Steve) Diehl, Norman Steinbeiser and Mona Steinbeiser; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a husband, Jerry Chapman; two siblings, Regina "Jeanie" Tomlinson and Vincent "Vinnie" Steinbeiser; and a brother-in-law, Tim Gracey.
Alberta was a 1963 graduate of Tyrone High School. She was an executive secretary at Northrop Grumman. She was very proud of her job and loved being a part of the company she worked for.
She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church as well as the CDA Court St. Rita. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Alberta was a runner and completed three half-marathons and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She loved music and always reveled in seeing her brothers play in their band. She was very social and enjoyed being taken to lunch. Alberta was resilient and never let anything slow her down.
Friends will be received in the gathering space of the church from 9:30 until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, with Father Michael Pleva officiating.
Private inurnment will be made following the service at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Veterans organization of the donor's choice.
