Obituary for William Orsino

William A. Orsino, 94, passed away Wednesday morning, April 27, 2022. He was born in Clearfield, the son of Augusto and Minnie (Spingola) Orsino. He married his wife, Marcella (Kardolly) Orsino, on Nov. 27, 1952, at St. Francis Catholic Church, by Father Martin Glenn in Clearfield.

Surviving are his wife; a son, William A. Orsino and his wife, Lisa, of Altoona; two grandchildren, William Markel of Altoona and Anthony Orsino and his fiancée, Jolene, of Altoona; two great-grandchildren, Uriah and Ellianna; and a brother-in-law, John Ianaro. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Theresa Shimmel.

William was a graduate of Clearfield High School in 1947. He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict, serving from 1950-52. He was a licensed pilot at the age of 18, who enjoyed flying in his youth. William and his wife owned Orsino Café in Clearfield for many years, and the Taylor Motel in Tyrone for 27 years. He was a member of the American Legion Clearfield, the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Clearfield, and the Sons of Italy.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
