Obituary for Wilfred R. Illig

Wilfred (Will) R. Illig, 81, Bald Eagle, entered into eternal rest Saturday afternoon at UPMC/Altoona after an extended illness.
He was born in Cresson, PA to Kenneth and Margaret (Miller) Illig. On August 3rd, 1959, he married Gwenvere Westover and together they've shared 62 years of marriage.
Will is survived by his wife and their 3 children. Shari Bonner (Milton) of Ranson, WV, Scott Illig (Juanita) of Bald Eagle and Stacy Snyder (David Jr.) of Bellwood. Will and Gwen were blessed with 4 grandchildren, James Lingafelt (Nicole) of Tyrone, Julie Kephart (John) of Sinking Valley, Gretchen Illig of Bald Eagle and Christine Woomer (Christopher) of Bald Eagle and 9 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Will was preceded in death by 2 Sisters and 2 Brothers. He was the last surviving member of his family.
He attended Cresson Joint High school and is a member of the Tyrone Alliance Church.
After retiring from 32 years with Warnaco Sportswear in Altoona, Will and Gwen traveled in their motorhome to Myrtle Beach and Florida and cruised to Alaska for their 50th Anniversary and went to Key West (his favorite place).
They previously started out camping with their children and grandchildren who will continue the tradition. Will also shared his love for the Pittsburgh Pens, Steelers, Nascar/Indy car racing and WWE wrestling with his kids and his nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received on February 24, 2022 at Feller Memorial Home from 10-11am, with a service to follow at 11am with Rev Carl Schmidt. Inurnment will be private.
