Obituary for Virginia Moore

Virginia Moore, 95 of Tyrone and a guest of Epworth Manor, died Sunday, July 25, 2021. She was born on May 21, 1926, in Williamsburg, the daughter of the late Levi Blandon and Minnie Belle (Fisher) Cunningham. In 1943 at the Epworth Methodist Church in Harrisburg, she married Marcus A. Moore Jr who preceded her in death on October 25, 2004. She is survived by three siblings: Zoe C. Wescott, Geraldine C. Gorman, and Clark E. Cunningham. She was preceded by five siblings: Mildred C. Wertman, Frances Brown, Walter Cunningham, Marie C. White, Earl B. Cunningham
Virginia graduated from Warriors Mark High School where she was Valedictorian. She worked for Big Yank Corporation and retired in 1991. She was a member of the Altoona North Tipton Jehovah Witnesses. She was also a local tax collector for many years.
She was a member of the Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary and the Warriors Mark Franklin Fire Company Auxiliary.
She enjoyed gardening and her pets. She spent a lot of time with family and enjoyed the company of her nieces and nephews and watching them grow up. She liked cooking and baking pies. Her coconut cream pie was her specialty and was out of this world.
Services for Virginia Moore will be held at the convenience of the family.
