Shirley Ann “Me-Maw” Christine, 92 of Tyrone, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. She was born in Pittsburgh, on May 2, 1930, the daughter of the late Edward L. and Velma June (McDonald) Shaw. On Christmas day of 1947 in Cumberland, MD she married Daniel Lee Christine who preceded her in death on May 27, 2004. She is survived by seven children: Deborah (John) McClellan, Penny Ann (Ahmad), Daniel (Kay), John (Diane), Dell (Karen), Ted (Crystal), and Bradley Christine; one daughter in law: Sally Christine; 25 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded by one son, Jeffrey Christine. She also had six siblings: Ned, Sharon, Darlene, Steve, Paul, and Robert.

“Me-Maw” spent over 20 years as a caretaker professionally but a lifetime of dedication to making sure all of those around her were cared for and loved, and always had an open door, even to strangers.

She attended Grace Baptist Church in Tyrone and always put God first. She loved to read her Bible, and enjoyed baking, cooking, and picnics. She greatly enjoyed being with her family, especially her grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren.

A noon funeral service for Shirley Ann “Me-Maw” Christine will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022 the Feller Memorial Home. Friends will be received on Saturday from 11 am until the noon service. Private interment will be held at Bald Eagle Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 2308 Adams Ave. Tyrone, PA 16686.
