Rose Marie Rozick, 93, of Tyrone died Saturday, July 17, 2021. She was born in Bellwood on April 26, 1928, the daughter of the late Paul and Charlotte (Wharton) Summers. On October 2, 1954, she married Steve Rozick who preceded her in death on July 11, 1997. She is survived by three daughters: Teresa (Tim) Jeffries of Tyrone, Stephanie (Gerry) Sullivan of Pittsburgh, and Anne (Rick) Fekete of California; two sons: Dr. Mark (Chann) of State College and David Rozick of Spruce Creek; 12 grandchildren: Elizabeth Valsamidis, Ben and Aaron Jeffries, Ryan, Maleah and Aaron Fekete, Katy Gallagher, Daniel Rozick, Rose and Will Sullivan, and Gunner and Chase Byerly; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ann Nesbella of Altoona and Kay Cory of Severna Park, MD; and a best friend of many years, Leona Haag. She was preceded in death by one, brother Bill Summers.
Rose Marie was a graduate of Bellwood Antis High School in 1946 and Altoona Hospital School of Nursing in 1949. She worked as an RN at the Altoona Hospital, and later taught as an instructor for the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. Following her retirement in 1979 she worked as an RN at Epworth Manor.
She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church as well as the Catholic Daughters of the Americas for over 50 years. She served faithfully at many events at the St Matthew Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling and shopping. What she loved most was God, her family, and her friends.
An 11:00 AM Mass at Saint Matthew Catholic Church in Tyrone will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, with Father Jozef Kovacik officiating. Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, from 6-9:00 PM at Feller Memorial Home. Contributions in her memory may be made to St Matthew Catholic Church, 1105 Cameron Avenue, Tyrone, PA 16686 or to Catholic Charities, 1300 12th Ave, Altoona, PA 16601.
