Ronald L. Scott, 74, of Tyrone, passed away on August 23, 2023 at his home. He was born on August 8, 1949, in Altoona the son of the late Lawrence and Vannie (Burkholder) Scott. On June 25, 1971, at the Tyrone Presbyterian Church he married Debra Benn who survives. Along with his wife, he is survived by two children: Brian W. (Carly) Scott, and Kristen A. (Beau Klein) Brower; four grandchildren: Braydon, Dylon, Rowan, and Olivia; one brother: Robert W. (Darlene) Scott; Sister-in-law: Carol E. (Terry Douglas) Mauk; a son-in-law: Brian Brower; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Louise.

He was a 1967 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. He worked for and retired from People’s Natural Gas. He was a Vietnam veteran who honorably served in the US Army.

Ron was an avid outdoorsman and had a passion for hunting and enjoyed fishing. He loved football; both Tyrone Golden Eagles and the Indianapolis Colts, and he was also a Pittsburgh Pirates fan.

A noon funeral service for Ronald L. Scott will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, with Reverend Ernest Walls officiating. Friends will be received on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home and on Saturday from 10 am until the time of service. Interment will be made following the service at Arch Spring Cemetery.
