Robert A. Bailey

Robert A. Bailey, 87, Tyrone, a guest of Epworth Manor, died Saturday.
He was born in Tyrone, son of the late John Ermine and Ruth (Snouffer) Bailey. On June 26, 1954, he married Barbara Yingling, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons: Larry (Darlene) Bailey and Alex (Annette) Bailey; two daughters: Susan (Steve) James and Lisa (Chet) Swalina; five grandchildren: Christie Gates, Ashley Good, Lindsey Good, Morgan Campisino and Stephen Bailey; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Delores Hooper.
He was preceded in death by four sisters: Dorothy Haverstine, Theda Dysart, Elaine Lamson, Romaine Wilson; and a brother, John Bailey.
Robert was a 1948 graduate of Tyrone High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and when he returned home he began working as a machinist at the Chicago Rivet and Machine Co., from which he retired. He attended Faith Bible Church in Bellwood and made it a priority to read his Bible.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, Pastor Ben Hoover officiating.
