Obituary for Robert E. Albright

Robert E. Albright, 87 of Martinsburg and formerly of Tyrone, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023. He was born in Tyrone on September 4, 1936, the son of the late George M. and Ruth M. (Dickson) Albright. In 1975 at the First English Lutheran Church Tyrone he married Linda (Myers) Albright who survives. Also surviving are children: Michael, James (Darlene), George, and Jeffrey (Robin) Albright, Jennifer (Jon) Gross, Matthew (Carol) Albright and Wendy (David) Rose; Grandchildren: Courtney Cooper, Nicole and Lindsay Albright, Zachary Albright, Katrina and Annika Gross, and Taylor Ford; and his Sister: Gail Brinkman.

Robert was a 1954 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. After high school he served honorably in the United States Air Force in the Drum and Bugle Corps. He worked for Westvaco as a finishing foreman and retired in the late 90’s. He attended First English Lutheran Church of Tyrone and the Church of the Good Shepherd Tyrone where he sang in the choir. He was a member of the Tyrone Masonic Lodge, as well as a Shriner at the Jaffa Shrine in Altoona where he was a Road Runner and a Shriner Clown. He also coached youth baseball and was a Cub Scout leader.

He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, singing, and music.

An 11 am funeral service for Robert E. Albright will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at the First English Lutheran Church Tyrone with pastor Sharon Erb officiating. Friends will be received from 10 am until the time of service. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park following the service.
