Obituary for Norman D. Eye

Norman D. Eye, 79, of Tyrone, passed away Tuesday. He was born in Staunton, Va., son of the late Kermit and Mary (Bodkin) Eye. On March 1, 1969, in Cumberland, Md., he married Kathleen Anne Smith who preceded him on Sept. 12, 2019.
He is survived by a son, Michael (Shannon) Eye; two grandsons, Jordan and Ian Rhoat; six great-grandchildren; a nephew, Randy Eye; his dog, Annie; and a special friend, Barbara.

He was preceded by his twin brother, Thurman D. Eye; and a nephew, Danny Eye.

Norman was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Virginia and retired from SCI Huntingdon.
In his younger years, he flew planes in the Civil Air Patrol. He also enjoyed cars and was an avid motorcyclist. He raced many motorcycles and once traveled from Elkton, Va. to Niagara Falls on his Triumph. He also enjoyed time with his Burger King Crew. Norman liked to drive around and thoroughly enjoyed the company of his friends.

A 2 p.m. graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, at Charlottesville Cemetery in Tipton with the Rev. George R. Mauk officiating.
