Obituary for Linda Webb

Linda Helen Webb, 72, of Tyrone, peacefully passed away in the loving arms of her creator, June 6, 2023, at UPMC Altoona. Linda was born on September 5, 1950, in Tyrone, the daughter of the late Harvey and Hilda (Smith) Briggs. She is survived by six children: George (Michelle) Webb Jr., Theresa (Randall) Barger, Harvey (Jen) Webb, Shauna (Bill) Shaffer, Patrick (Charann) Webb, Sherry (Joshua Sr.) Herbster; 13 grandchildren: Dalton and Coleton Barger, Nadia, Noelle, and Neely Webb, Sam Webb, Olivia Shaffer, Joshua Jr., Cheylynn and Harley Herbster, Charlotte Simpson, Lewis and Kathrine Webb; sister MaryAnn (Briggs) Turnbaugh, and former husband: George Webb Sr. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Donna (Briggs) Grove, and Mildred (Briggs) Newbrough.



Linda was a 1968 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. She worshipped at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Tyrone. She was a stay-at-home mom before driving school bus for Beckwith Buses and Transportation. She enjoyed her work and the children she transported. She dedicated herself to the Sinking Valley Farm Show, the Huntingdon County Fair, and mowed grass at Oak Grove Cemetery.



She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, sewing, painting, canning, gardening, taking care of her animals on their farm, as well as taking care of her dogs Sadie, Daisy, and Max. She was an avid football fan, cheering for the Steelers, Cowboys, and Eagles, and liked watching her Hallmark Shows. She loved to watch her children and grandchildren in the FFA and 4H and attending the Huntingdon County Fair and the Sinking Valley Fair. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Linda was soft spoken and resilient, adored her family and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.



Friends will be received on Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at St. Matthew Church followed by a service at 1 pm with Father Michael Pleva officiating. Interment will be made at Oak Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Contributions in her memory may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
