Obituary for Leonard Peter Romano Sr.

Leonard Peter Romano Sr., 92 of Tyrone, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. He was born in Tyrone, on November 30, 1930, a son of the late Peter and Mary (Kobuck) Romano. On September 8, 1956 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church he married Donna J. (Stefano) Romano who survives. Also surviving are his three children: Luann Romano (Thomas) Paglianite, Mary Romano (James) Domenick, and Leonard P. Romano Jr; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and two sisters: Theresa Romano Gill and Lucille Romano. He was preceded by two brothers: Ralph and Frank Romano; and two sisters: Adeline Maceno and Agnes Cowher.

Leonard was a 1949 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. He worked at Westvaco Corp. where he retired as a mechanic after 38 years of dedicated service. He was a lifetime member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

He loved his computer poker and games, and his sports shows and game shows on TV. His wife and family were his life.

An 11 am Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church with Father Michael Pleva officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 10 am until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 1105 Cameron Ave Tyrone, PA 16686.
