Karen Elizabeth Hampton, 62 of Tyrone, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, August 25, 2022. She was born in Tyrone on December 17, 1959, the daughter of the late Samuel C. and Shirley J. (Shawley) Emigh Sr. On October 20, 1978 at Wesley United Methodist Church she married William L. Hampton Sr. who survives. Also surviving is one son: William L. Hampton Jr.: three grandchildren: Kali, Aleana, and William; two great-grandchildren: Eden and Arlo; eight siblings: Vicki (Kim) Aults, Sam Jr. (Sharalyn), Dan (Jeannie) and Paul (Cindy) Emigh, Lisa (Larry Jr.) Glace, Scott (Brenda) Emigh, Gloria (Steve) Catich, and John (Deborah) Emigh; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by one infant brother: Larry James Emigh; and nephew: Steve L. Catich II.
Karen was a 1977 graduate of Tyrone High School. She worked for various companies as a housekeeper. She was a member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company.
She was known for her great athleticism in her younger years and enjoyed playing neighborhood sports as well as summer softball for the Thunderbolts and shined during the Tyrone Powderpuff games. She also enjoyed fishing. She loved spending time with family and absolutely loved her grandchildren.
Services for Karen E. Hampton will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Feller Memorial Home.
