Justin J. Hoover, 42, of Farmington, formerly of Tyrone, died unexpectedly on Monday at his home, from natural causes. He was born in Tyrone, son of Jennifer (Noel) and Richard L. Hoover. In addition to his parents, surviving are brother, Jason and wife, Tara; his grandmothers: Sue Noel and Phyllis Hoover; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Richard E. Hoover and Calvin Noel.
He was a 1996 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. Following his service in the U.S. Navy, he became a self-taught culinary professional at a number of highly esteemed restaurants and resorts, including the Nittany Lion Inn and Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, where he was employed at the time of his death. Justin was an avid golfer and dog lover and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of his family. A reception for friends will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Pavilion 2 in Reservoir Park, Tyrone. Arrangements are by Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
