Obituary for Joseph Ieraci Jr.

Joseph V. Ieraci Jr., 74, of Tyrone, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023. He was born on November 29, 1948 in Altoona to the late Joseph V. Sr. and Concetta "Jennie" (Germino) Ieraci. On April 21, 1972 he married Donna Fultz.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughters; Jennifer (Robert) Knisely and Joey (Dusty) Lewis; grandchildren, Meghan and Melena Knisely, and Jordan, Tanner and Elly Lewis; siblings, Frank (Judy) Ieraci, Connie Bonsell, and Paul Ieraci. He also leaves behind his buddies Doug, Charlie, Marty and Don.

Joe graduated from Tyrone High School in 1966 and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1968. He proudly served his country by enlisting in the Navy during the Vietnam conflict and was a Radioman 1st class serving on USS Diamondhead and USS Saratoga. He was a member of the Tyrone American Legion and Commander of the United States Navy Club Ship #589. Joe faithfully painted the crosses that are displayed in Memorial Park across from the Legion each year. He loved painting, hunting and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren. After 29 years, he retired as a graphic artist for Norfolk Southern.

Friends and family are invited to Feller Memorial home for a visitation on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 1pm followed by a committal with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in honor of Joe be made to the Tyrone Flag Project.
