Obituary for Gada Fink

Gada Claire Fink, 91, of Altoona and formerly of Tyrone, passed away Monday, June, 5, 2023. She was born in Bellwood on January 15, 1932, the daughter of the late Fred and Katherine (Kephart) Burns. In February of 1950 she married Earl Fink who preceded her in death on February 19, 2001. She is survived by eight children: Florine Katherine Gardner, Earl Frederick Fink, Elmer Hiram (Sibylle) Fink, Ronald Bruce Fink, John Edward Fink, Jewel Ilene Lenhart, James Elliot Fink, and Luke Ashley Fink; 19 grandchildren: Marvin Baker Jr., Daelle Askey, Amy Jo Burns, Terry Lee Richardson, Christopher Earl and David Andrew Fink, Shannon Ritchey, Kelly Suzanne, Adam, Cheyenne, Kimberly Ann, Suzanne Juliet, and Thomas Fink, Amber Dawn Gumbert, Jonathan George Fink, Curtis Gates, Corey Paul Lenhart, and Jenalee Isa and Christopher James Fink; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Vanetta Jean Fink; a granddaughter: Natalie Romano; and siblings: Fred, David, Charles, Nathan, Harry, and Oris Burns, Betty Rafferty, and Gwen Bierly.

She was a member of the Riggles Gap Bible Church, and was a graduate of the Altoona Bible Institute. She had previously worked as a waitress at the Philipsburg Hospital.

She participated in prayer meetings, prayer bands, hymn sings, and the Lemar Church Camp. She enjoyed going to the Port Matilda Campground with her family, cooking, baking, meeting with her girlfriends to go shopping and catch up, was an avid reader of her Bible, watching westerns, especially John Wayne, and the Waltons. She loved gospel, country, and bluegrass music, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and all of her many generations of grandchildren.

An 11 am funeral service for Gada Claire Fink will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Feller Memorial Home, with Pastor William Ice officiating. Friends will be received on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home as well as on Friday from 10 am until the time of service. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
