Obituary for Eugene W. Fisher

Eugene William Fisher, 86 of Bald Eagle died Wednesday, February 12, 2020. He was born in Bald Eagle on January 6, 1934, the son of the late John H. and Violet (Price) Fisher Sr. On March 30, 1957 at the Columbia Avenue Methodist Church in Tyrone he married Barbara Ann Harper who survives. Also surviving are two sons: Daniel W. Fisher of Trappe, MD and David E. Fisher of Dover, DE; four grandchildren: William E. Fisher, Nicole Smith, Christina Nice and Dalton W. Fisher; three great-grandchildren; and one sister: Marguerite J. Ayers of Bald Eagle. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Shirley J. Ieraci, E. Carolyn Smith and Marjorie F. Gillam; and two brothers: LeRoy J. Fisher and John H. Fisher, Jr.
Gene was a graduate of Tyrone high school and attended Altoona Business School. He worked as an engine rebuilder for Beasley Industries, Inc. and worked his way up to be General Manager of Noble Motor Rebuilders in Maryland where he retired from in 1988.
Gene was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as Corporal until he was honorarily discharged in 1955.
He was a family man who enjoyed hunting and being in the woods, model trains, automotive repairs and rebuilding, carpentry, gunsmithing and traveling.
A 1:00 pm graveside service with military honors will be on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Bald Eagle Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc.
