Edward G. Patterson Jr. 69, of Tyrone, died Friday, December 24, 2021 at UPMC Altoona after a long battle with illness stemming from the house fire on July 26, 2021. He was born in Altoona on June 7, 1952, the son of the late Edward G. and Neva (Miller) Patterson Sr. On October 27, 1973 at Christ United Methodist Church, he married Deborah L. Bradford who survives. Also surviving are two children: Edward M. (Jenny) Patterson, and Mindy Morrissey; two grandchildren: Kobi Patterson-Noel, and Stormie Noel-Lingenfelter; five great-grandchildren: Bowin, Remington, and Oakley Lewis, Keihn Mertiff, and Slade Summers; a sister: Vicki Allen; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a 1970 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. In 2017, he retired from Commercial Envelope after 28 years of service to the company.
He was a life member of the Neptune Fire Company of Tyrone and previously served as Fire Chief of the company.
Ed enjoyed playing softball and watching the Pirates, Steelers, and other sporting events.
A 5 pm funeral service for Edward G. Patterson, Jr. will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. with Scott Sessaman officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 pm until the start of the 5 pm service.
