Donna Jean Neilson, 78 of Alexandria, died at home on Monday, August 2, 2021. She was born on November 24, 1942, in Erie, the daughter of the late Fred Elliot and Roxanna Mae (Dick) Showalter. On November 17, 1962, in Huntingdon, she married James Philip Neilson who preceded her in death on March 24, 2018. She is survived by three children: Jeffrey Neilson and partner Crystal of Waynesboro, PA, Deborah Booher and spouse Troy of Alexandria, PA and Philip Neilson of Jefferson, MD; nine grandchildren: Jeffrey Neilson and spouse Dayna, Kerry Booher and partner Gabrielle, Courtney Carter and spouse Nathan, Ridge Booher and spouse Natalie, Christopher Grainey, Katelyn Neilson and partner Evan, Alysia Grainey, Derrick Neilson and partner Liz, and Tori Booher and partner Allen; seven great-grandchildren; and four siblings: Mary Peters and spouse Ernie of Florida, Robert Showalter and spouse Dorothy of Pittsburgh, Susan Showalter of Florida and Pamela Tononi and spouse Raymond of Huntingdon. She was preceded by a daughter: Cheryl Ann Grainey on April 17, 1997; and a grandson: Troy Booher Jr. on December 5, 1984.
Donna was a 1962 graduate of Juniata Valley High School. She was the local Avon Sales Representative for 37 years. She was of the Jehovah’s Witness faith.
She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.
