Obituary for David Garman

David Lewis Garman, 80 of Spruce Creek and formerly of Altoona, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. He was born in Clearfield on October 27, 1943, the son of the late William Henry and Pauline (Hewitt) Garman. On July 11, 1964, at the Juniata United Presbyterian Church he married Glenna (Frazier) Garman who survives. Also surviving is a daughter: Deborah Frazier Garman; two granddaughters: Heather (Robert) Redling of Muscat, Oman, and Holly (Joel) Nantais of Rockville, MD; one great-granddaughter: Ava Redling; and a special nephew: H. John (Drema) Frazier; and great-nephew: Benton Frazier.

David was a 1961 graduate of Altoona Area High School. After high school he served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He worked at Glenn O. Hawbaker before retirement.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting. He was a member of the Path Gap Hunting Camp and the Ancient Gastronomic Order of Rattling Reptiles. He also enjoyed auto racing and spending time with his family. David was a registered Maine guide for hunting.

A 6 pm funeral service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. with pastor Tiffany Marvich officiating. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 pm until the time of service. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
