Obituary for Darlene Paige Fike (Atchison)

Darlene Paige (Atchison) Fike, 74 Passed away May 3, 2021 due to complications of pancreatic cancer. She was born November 17, 1946 in Wilkinsburg, PA to Margaret (Wilson) and Harry Atchison.
In August 1973 she married David Wesley Fike who preceded her in death in 2020. She is survived by her two sons. Brian Wesley Fike, wife Kristen (Strouse) Fike, and granddaughter Violet (who was the love of her life), and son Charles Terrance Fike. She is also survived by her special aunt Margie McMahon, husband Tom, their children Arthur McMahon, David McMahon and Pattie Myers. Sisters Billie Moore (Ron) of Huntsville, AL and Kimberly Harrison of New Braunfeld, TX. Brothers Laurel Atchison of Groves, TX and Bladen Atchison of Canton, OH. Two sisters in love (friends for over 55 years) Jackie Farkas of Elizabeth City, NC and Ann Ballard of Taylorsville, NC. Brother and sister-in-law Terrance and Laverne Fike. She was also preceded in death by her brother Douglas Atchison, half-brother William Bruce Atchison, and half brother and sister Mark Atchison and Marlene Atchison.
Darlene retired in 2008 from Penn State Hospitality Services (a division of Penn State University) where she was a Sales Manager for the Nittany Lion Inn and Penn Stater Conference Center. Darlene achieved her Certified Hospitality Professional certification (CHSP) from the American Hotel & Lodging Association in 1996. In 1998 she received her Certified Hospitality Marketing Executive certification (CHME) from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International. In 2008 Darlene received her Certified Association Sales Executive certification (CASE) from the Professional Convention Management Association.
In her retirement, she became an enthusiastic quilter and enjoyed her weekly classes. Darlene also enjoyed scrapbooking, card making and reading.
A memorial service for Darlene Paige (Atchison) Fike will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc.
