Obituary for Brian G. McManigal Sr.

Brian G. McManigal Sr., 61, of Tyrone, affectionately known as "Big Guy", passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022. He was born January 14, 1961 in Huntingdon to the late Wilmer G. and Evelyn M. (Ranck) McManigal. On September 19, 1981 in Tyrone he married Jerilyn Lannen who survives. Along with his wife, Brian is survived by two children: Brian G. (Jo) McManigal Jr, and Ashley (Adam) McManigal-Powers, both of Tyrone; five grandchildren: Rory, Rian, Ripley, Maclan, and Maddox; four siblings: Sharon L. (Rick) Grissinger, Karen Ann (O.Jay) Heaster, Angela R. (Roger) Evans, and Brent (Bernie) McManigal; mother and father in law: Tom and Janice Lannen; brother in law: Tommy (Shellie) Lannen; sister in law Jackie Conaway; numerous nieces and nephews; his loyal Mac's Market Family; and his dog Jingles. He was preceded by his brother in law: Dave Conaway.

He was a 1979 graduate of TAHS, and was a member of BPOE Lodge 212, the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Company, and the Tyrone American Legion. Brian owned Mac’s Market and the Gridiron where he and his son carried on the family legacy of “The biggest LITTLE store in town”. When he wasn't working at the store or doing projects around the house, he enjoyed fishing, watching and supporting Golden Eagle football and the Packers, and was an avid Penn State Wrestling fan. Brian’s life was focused on his love for his family, especially his grandchildren.

A noon service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd with Reverend Ron Baker officiating. Friends will be received from 4 to 8pm Monday March 28, 2022 at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. and on Tuesday March 29, 2022 at Church of the Good Shepherd from 11am until the noon service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Military Families Ministry Operation: Socks for Soldiers online or at the sock dropoff located at Mac's Market.
