Obituary for Barbara Ann "Barbie" Stever

Barbara Ann Stever, 84 of Spruce Creek, was greeted by the Lord Monday September 7, 2020. She was born on August 24, 1936 the daughter of the late Joseph and Mabel Lorraine (Gundrum) Hendericks. On June 30, 1979 she married Dr. Richard W. Stever, Jr. who survives. Also surviving are five children: Harold Michael (Kathy) Narehood of Tyrone, Jeffrey (Betty) Narehood of Tipton, Angie Goss (Hugh Farley) of New Jersey, Dick (Kimbra) Stever, and Amy (Revel) Kemp both of Tyrone; eleven grandchildren: Taylor and Kara Goss, Sheena Kelemen, Todd, Valerie, Michael and Joseph Narehood, Aaron and Ian Reese, and Rich and Olivia Stever; seven great-grandchildren: Hanna, Ella, Henry, Charlie and Ollie Narehood, Sarah Dean and Hunter Reese; and one brother-in-law: Bill Showers. She was preceded by one sister: Millie Showers; one son: Randall Todd Narehood; and one daughter: Ellen Stever DelBaggio.
Barbie was a 1954 graduate of Milton High School. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Tyrone. She retired as the office manager for her husband’s dental practice.
Barbie frequented the Tyrone Library and was a member of the Red Hats, Questers, Service Organizations, the Curve Girls Group, she held many positions at Wesley United Methodist Church and was President of the Rip and Tear Club. Above all else she cherished her time with her family especially her grand and great-grandchildren.
Barbie was undoubtedly one of the nicest individuals God had ever created. The world was definitely a better place having had Barbie in it and anyone who had met her was better for it.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions in Barb’s memory may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 1200 Logan Ave., Tyrone, PA 16686 as well as the Tyrone-Snyder Public Library, 1000 Pennsylvania Ave., Tyrone, PA 16686.
