Obituary for Ann G. Searer
Ann G. Searer, 93 of Tyrone, died Tuesday July 13, 2021. She was born in Tyrone on July 7, 1928 the daughter of the late Samuel and Gertrude (Sullivan) Graham. On June 14, 1952, she married Richard Searer at St. Matthews Catholic Church Rectory. She is survived by three children: Richard G. (Cathi) Searer of Madison, Wis., Annette S. (Robert) Lynn of Tyrone, and Gretchen S. (Keith) Armington of Sparks, Md.; nine grandchildren: Lindsay (Billy) Driscoll, Matthew (Paige) and Michelle Searer, Austin, Benjamin and Alex (Abby) Lynn, Rachel (Mirella), Caitlin and Stefan Armington; and two great grandchildren: Quinn Searer and Grayson Lynn. Ann was the last of her immediate family.
Ann was a 1945 graduate of Tyrone High School and a 1949 graduate of Manhattanville College in New York City. She was a member of Saint Matthew Catholic Church in Tyrone. She worked part-time at WTRN and full time with her husband in the office of the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc.
She served as a reader and commentator at St. Matthew as well as a member of the Spiritual Life Committee. She was a charter member and past president of the Tyrone Women’s Club, a member and former board member of the Tyrone Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Blair County Chamber of Commerce, a member of Court St. Rita, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and had once served on the Board of Directors of the Tyrone Hospital.
A 10 AM Mass for Ann G. Searer will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Saint Matthew Catholic Church with Father Jozef Kovacik officiating. Friends will be received on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 5-7 PM at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc.
