Obituary for Alfred E. "Jack" Woomer

Alfred E. “Jack” Woomer, 90, of Tyrone died Saturday January 2, 2021 at his residence.

He was born April 23, 1930 in Tyrone, a son of Malcolm and Ethel (Smith) Woomer. On March 5, 1955 in Nealmont he married Veta M. Patton. She died March 1, 2011.

Surviving are four sons, Larry and wife Josie, Michael, Jack and wife Joy and Mark and wife Karen all of Tyrone, a daughter Vivian Shauf and husband Travis of Tyrone, twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family preceded in death by a daughter Tammy Jo Woodring, a son Matt, three brothers John, Malcolm “Jake” and Pete and a sister Suzanne “Toot” Woomer.

He retired in 1996 from Dillon Trucking, Tyrone.

He was a member of the Tyrone Sportsman’s Association and the Howard Gardner American Legion.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict serving as a Private First Class.

Jack enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, gardening, fishing, camping, hunting, and fishing trips to Canada.

Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Interment at Baughman Cemetery.
