Obituary for Alberta M. Dinant
Alberta M. Dinant, 94 of Tyrone, and previously from Houtzdale, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022. She was born in Houtzdale on March 24, 1927, the daughter of the late Henry and Eva (Waite) Lindenberg. On October 14, 1944, in Houtzdale, she married Edmond F. Dinant, who preceded her in death on October 4, 1994. She is survived by two daughters: Pamela (Robert) Starr of Tyrone, and Penny Dinant of Freeport; three grandsons: Scott (Stephanie) Dinant, Craig (Heidi) Starr and Tyler Starr; and four great-grandsons: Ryan (Rachael) Dinant, and Alexander, Reid and Shane Starr. She was preceded in death by a son: Ronald E. Dinant; a brother: Ronald Lindenberg; and a sister: Maxine Laskowsky. She was the last of her immediate family.
Alberta attended Bald Eagle United Methodist Church. She retired in 1993 from Ziffs II as a manager working at both the Tyrone & Altoona locations after 20 years of service. She was previously employed at General Cigar, Philipsburg, as a supervisor for 18 years. She was also a sales consultant for Lia Sophia Jewelry, and after retirement worked for many years in DelGrosso's Amusement Park gift shop.
Alberta was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, secretary of A-Peek-A-Boo Travelers Camping Club, secretary of the Widow Widowers Club of Philipsburg, and the Bald Eagle Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping, playing cards, dancing, participating in several activities at the Tyrone Blair Senior Center, and going on many bus trips, some of which included casinos. She loved spending time with her family and most of all her grandsons and great-grandsons
A noon funeral service for Alberta M. Dinant will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Feller Memorial Home with Pastor Jeff Holland officiating. Friends will be received from 11:00 am until the noon service. Contributions in Alberta’s memory may be made to Epworth Manor Senior Living Activities Department, 925 S Lincoln Ave, or Bald Eagle United Methodist Church, 2785 Bald Eagle Pike, Tyrone, PA 16686.
